Jolly Buoy Island is the part of Mahatma Gandhi National Park, Andaman Islands. One Can reach Jolly Buoy Island from New Wandoor Beach which is 20 km from Port Blair.

To go Jolly Buoy Island, one has to reach New Wandoor Beach from where boat services run by Government take you to the Island. All Boat leave at 9 am in the morning and come back together. Be sure to get there atleast an hour before.
There is a requirement of Permit and ticket before riding the boat to Island. Both are available one day before the trip and can be arranged by driver's or local's.
Jolly Buoy Island is open for six months usually from November to April. Another Island called Red Skin for the another 6 Months period. On Monday the Islands are close. So plan your trip accordingly.
The Island is famous for its crystal clear water and live corals on the seabed. The big boats get park away from the island almost 600 mtr away, and people are transferred to a glass bottom small boats. Hence it allows you to see live corals on the seabed and enjoy the marine life.
Person willing to see more of these can hire a boat independently and enjoy. The independent boat take people on a ride which last around 30-35 min and extra charge of 50 INR- 100 INR has to paid.
People who are more toward adventures side can go for snorkeling on the island itself. They provide you the life jacket and furthermore an experienced snorkeller to accompany you, so one doesn't have to worry about swimming skills. They show you marine life and coral around the island a pleasant experience one cannot miss.
